What you are signing up for
Alerts concern the specific person whose invitation you accept. They report that protection was deliberately turned off or a supported protection-off event was explicitly confirmed. Busted uses fixed SMS wording. Custom personal messages are delivered through supported in-app and email channels, not SMS.
Texts do not include browsing history and do not prove what anyone viewed. A phone being offline, a dead battery, missing check-ins, or a subscription lapse alone does not trigger these alerts.
Consent and verification
Your friend shares a personal invitation. Open it, review the identified person and disclosure, use your own number, and personally choose the initially unchecked consent box. Then request and enter a verification code. Saving the form alone does not verify phone ownership, start a subscription, or send a code.
Consent is optional and is not a condition of purchasing or using Busted. A friend cannot give SMS consent on your behalf. The separate general consent form records a pending request only; it does not itself connect your permission to a verified app invitation. See the SMS consent policy.
Frequency, costs, and delivery
Message frequency varies with protection events and requested verification. Message and data rates may apply. Eligibility, service availability, consent, phone verification, and abuse-prevention limits govern sending. Alerts may be delayed, limited, or undelivered. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. This is not an emergency service.
Stop messages or get help
Reply STOP to stop Busted program texts to your number, or withdraw using your private consent-management link. You may receive one confirmation of an SMS opt-out. Messages already handed to a carrier may still arrive. Reply HELP for help or email support@getbusted.org.
Replying START alone does not restore withdrawn Busted consent. To join again, complete a new invitation, consent, and verification process. If you change your number or no longer control it, withdraw and tell the person you support.

Your number and permission
Mobile information and opt-in records are not sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Consent is not transferred to other brands or campaigns.
