Busted Accountability Alerts is operated by Busted App LLC. Recipients give their own permission through a web form. These terms, an app user entering a number, or visiting a link do not provide consent on the recipient’s behalf.
Personal invitations
- The app user personally shares a private invitation. It identifies the specific person to support and the invited mobile number.
- The recipient opens the link, provides their name, and checks that the number is their own. The form explains automated recurring protection-status alerts, Busted’s identity, variable frequency, potential message and data rates, STOP and HELP, and that consent is optional.
- The consent checkbox starts unchecked. The recipient must select it and choose Accept invitation. Choosing Not now submits no consent or form details.
- A successful submission saves the exact disclosure, version, connection, source, and time. The receipt shows a private management link. A failed save does not produce a successful receipt.
- When verification is available, the recipient chooses Text me a verification code and enters the code. Twilio must confirm it. Saving consent alone does not request a text.
A verified status records phone ownership and permission. Delivery still depends on the app user’s eligibility, active recipient connection, service availability, and sending limits. An expired or replaced invitation requires a new valid link.
Invitation disclosure
Current website disclosure version: 2026-09-19.9. The invitation form uses the disclosure returned by the enrollment service and saves that exact version.

General consent requests
The public general form accepts a name, the recipient’s own number, and the name of the person they want to support. Its checkbox is also unchecked by default. Save SMS consent stores a pending request and provides a private withdrawal link; Continue without SMS submits nothing.
These general records do not verify ownership or establish a sending connection and cannot themselves authorize alerts. The recipient must complete the personal invitation and verification flow for the specific app user.

Scope of permission
Permission covers Busted’s automated protection-status texts about the identified person. It does not cover marketing, other people, other brands, or campaigns. Alerts describe confirmed protection-off events, not browsing activity. SMS uses Busted’s fixed wording; custom messages belong to supported in-app and email channels.
Records and withdrawal
We privately retain consent evidence, verification outcomes, and withdrawals as needed to administer the program, honor opt-outs, and meet applicable obligations. Retrying a saved submission does not reactivate withdrawn permission. We do not sell or transfer consent for another sender’s use.
Reply STOP to stop program texts to the number, or use the private receipt link to withdraw permission for the associated connection. Withdrawal cancels alerts still waiting in Busted’s queue for that consent; a carrier may still deliver a message already submitted. START alone does not restore permission. Joining again requires fresh consent and verification.
