These terms govern the Busted app, website, and related services provided by Busted App LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company formerly named Coach Henry LLC. By using the service, you agree to these terms. Our Privacy policy explains information handling. If you do not agree, do not use Busted. Questions: support@getbusted.org.
Age requirements
You must be at least 13 years old to use Busted. If you are under 18, you may use Busted only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these terms for you. Where the law requires it, Apple may ask a parent or guardian to approve your use of Busted or a significant update, and Busted follows that choice. If we learn that someone under 13 is using Busted, we will close the account and delete its information.
Voluntary participation
Use Busted on your own device or one you are authorized to control. You must have the legal capacity and permissions required where you live. Do not install it covertly, impersonate another person, or pressure someone into participation. Invite people who understand the role you are asking them to take, and respect their choice to decline or stop.
Blocking and protection alerts
Busted uses Apple Screen Time controls and, with eligible Pro access and setup, optional VPN filtering. In-app alerts are included with Free; email and text channels require eligible Pro access and recipient setup. Features and availability depend on the app version, device permissions, service configuration, and plan.
Deliberately turning protection off can notify your selected people. Busted can also report confirmed protection loss, including explicitly detected loss of Screen Time permission or an explicit VPN stop while accountability is active. A dead battery, missing check-ins, an uncertain permission state, being offline, or a subscription lapse alone does not trigger an accountability alert. An alert does not establish that anyone viewed adult content.
Recipient and message choices may be locked during an active commitment. Review the app’s confirmation before starting or ending protection. Some actions wait for alert processing. Device limitations, connectivity, provider failures, opt-outs, rate limits, and delivery queues can delay or prevent messages. Acceptance by a provider does not prove delivery or reading.
VPN and filtering limits
The optional VPN provides domain-based adult-site filtering and supported SafeSearch controls independently of Screen Time. It is not an anonymity or location-changing service. It cannot identify and filter every individual image, post, video, or message inside an otherwise allowed service. False positives, missed domains, app-specific behavior, network interference, and conflicts with another VPN can occur. Protection is not unremovable or impossible to bypass.
Enabling the VPN authorizes the network processing described in VPN & filtering and our Privacy policy. Use it lawfully. Do not resell access, share credentials, attack the service, evade usage limits, or use it to harm others. We may apply reasonable security, capacity, and abuse limits.
Messages, teams, and your content
You are responsible for the names, contact details, profile images, messages, and other content you provide. Supply only information you are authorized to use. In-app teammates choose to connect. Text recipients must personally opt in and verify their number; an app user cannot consent for them. Email contacts do not receive a Busted setup email, so discuss participation with them yourself and respect unsubscribe requests.
Custom alert text can be used in the app, team chat, and email where supported. SMS uses Busted’s fixed wording. You retain rights to your content and give Busted the permission necessary to store, process, and deliver it to the people you select. Do not submit content you lack rights to share. Follow our Community guidelines. Recipients may save or forward messages; do not share secrets or another person’s sensitive information.
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You can report a message or a person in the app and block anyone. We review reports promptly, prioritizing threats, child safety concerns, and other serious abuse. We may remove content and suspend accounts that break these terms or the Community guidelines.
Subscriptions and Apple purchases
Available plans, local prices, billing intervals, included features, and any trial are displayed before purchase. Apple bills subscriptions to your Apple account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through Apple before the renewal date shown there. Manage or cancel in your Apple subscription settings; deletion of Busted or your Busted account does not cancel the subscription. Access ordinarily continues through the paid period unless Apple revokes or refunds the purchase.
Restore eligible purchases through the app using the appropriate account. Refund requests for Apple purchases go through Apple’s purchase support, subject to applicable rights. Losing paid access may stop Pro features, including VPN access or paid alert channels, but does not by itself send an accountability alert. Free in-app features remain subject to their normal requirements.
The iPhone app’s license is governed by Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement unless a different applicable license is presented with the app. Apple is not responsible for providing Busted support. These service terms supplement, and do not remove mandatory rights under, the applicable license or consumer law.
Text message terms
Busted Accountability Alerts sends recurring automated protection-status texts to verified recipients who separately opt in. Frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Read the Text message terms and SMS consent policy, which apply to that program.
Availability and appropriate reliance
No feature guarantees that all adult content is blocked, a change is always detected, or an alert always arrives. Busted provides voluntary accountability, not medical care, counseling, emergency response, or a guarantee of abstinence or any other outcome. Do not rely on alerts for urgent or safety-critical decisions.
Ending participation and misuse
You can stop receiving alerts or request account deletion as described in Account & data deletion. A message already sent cannot be recalled. We may restrict or suspend misuse, security threats, violations of these terms, or service access that cannot be maintained lawfully. We may discontinue or change features, subject to applicable purchase terms and law.
Responsibility and changes
To the extent permitted by law, Busted is provided as available, without a promise of uninterrupted or error-free operation, complete filtering, or a specific result. You remain responsible for your choices and how you respond to others. Nothing in these terms excludes a right, warranty, liability, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
We may update these terms, display the revised effective date, and communicate material changes as appropriate. Changes do not retroactively alter consent you gave for text messages or eliminate rights attached to an existing purchase. Contact support@getbusted.org for questions, complaints, or support.
